Company Compliances for Central Supplier Database Package
• Legal Entity Compliance (CIPC & Identification)
Company Registration (CIPC): The business must be registered with the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC). The CSD automatically verifies company registration numbers.
Valid Identification: Valid South African ID numbers for directors, members, or owners are mandatory.
Beneficial Ownership (BO): As of January 2025, companies must have updated Beneficial Ownership information declared with CIPC. Failure to align CSD ownership data with CIPC records by March 31, 2025, will result in profile deactivation.
Supplier Details: Accurate contact information (email, phone number, physical address) must be provided.
• Tax Compliance (SARS)
Valid Tax Clearance: A valid Tax Compliance Status (TCS) pin from the South African Revenue Service (SARS) is mandatory. The CSD pulls this status in real-time.
No Tax Debt: A company must not owe SARS money without a formal payment arrangement. The CSD will show "Non-compliant" if taxes are not in order, disqualifying the supplier from tenders.
Returns Submission: All tax returns (VAT, PAYE, Corporate Income Tax, Provisional Tax) must be up to date.
• Financial Compliance (Banking)
Business Bank Account: A registered business bank account is required to ensure payments.
Bank Verification: CSD verifies banking details with the bank. Incorrect bank information will cause payment delays.
• B-BBEE Compliance
B-BBEE Certificate/Affidavit: While not always mandatory for registration, a B-BBEE certificate or sworn affidavit is necessary to score points under the Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act (PPPFA).
Updated Status: The B-BBEE status must be updated on the CSD profile.

No Tender Defaulters: The company must not be listed on the Register for Tender Defaulters or the Database of Restricted Suppliers.
